True To Life, A Magazine for Everyday Christian Women

I am the type of person who does not complain unless I have a suggestion on how to fix what I deem to be broken.  I also am doer or a fixer if you will. I DO something to fix the broken…..whatever the broken maybe.

Many years ago, a family member was involved in a nasty custody case.  I was so discouraged by the legal system and especially the private guardian ad litem, who was assigned to my families case.  I knew from personal experience that the system was broken.  So what did I do?  I investigated how to become a private guardian ad litem, I saved my money, went to school and began a career of being the voice for children in broken homes.  Yep, I became a guardian.  I did this for about 9 years and loved it.  although, I was not able to benefit my family members, I believe I made a real difference in the lives of those whom I was privileged to work.

I currently work for a women’s pregnancy center in Rock Hill, SC.  What I see over and over again is that women of all ages have be bombarded by magazines, articles, podcast and video’s that mislead them about what is “REAL” for the everyday woman regarding Style, Beauty, College/Career, Culture, Healthy Life Style, Relationships and Affordable Gift Ideas.  A quick review of this information is sure to leave a girl wanting and feeling like you are not a real women because you can’t wear, act, do or be the women you just read about.  Just flipping through the magazines can be depressing.

Since I am a doer, I have a plan.  My goal is to launch a monthly online magazine called TRUE TO LIFE, A Magazine for Everyday Christian Women.  The stories and articles will be written by other authors and friends who will present their Christian opinions and current information on topics in the categories I mentioned earlier.  The magazine will be for youth, college and career, stay at home moms and the working woman.  My goal is that women of all colors, shapes, and sizes will feel better about themselves after reading our magazine. Who knows what will become of it.  Maybe one or two will read it or maybe it will be a big hit. Either way I am going for it.

I hope that you will continue to read my blogs, and will soon read my new magazine.  It will only work, like the blogs, if you like, comment and share.  So while the magazine is in the creation phase….you can practice with my blogs.  Like, Comment and Share.  LOL

What do you think about my magazine idea?  What would you like to see in the first issue?  What do you hate to read in other magazines?  If you know someone who is a writer or photographer and you think they would like to join me on this new magazine quest, pass my information on.  I can’t wait for our first issue to hit the internet!

  1. Sounds like a much needed kind of magazine and I am so happy to see you seeing the need and stepping out to meet it. That is what more Christians in all walks of life need to do … put their beliefs and the needs in the world together in something that will speak to ordinary people in a way they can relate to! That is what I try to do with my blogs and Facebook, for which I have been ridiculed but that is OK. It makes me all the more determined to get up every day and do it again! Thank you for looking at my blogs and even more for what you are doing! Blessings!
